Building a custom home is a big decision

Your dream home deserves the dream build experience.

You’re building a home for the life you’re ready for, and we’ve shaped a process to match.

Phase One - Vision & Planning

Step 1: Meet the Camerons

Sit down with a Cameron family member. This is a conversation, not a consultation. We want to understand who you are, how you want to live, and what matters most before anything else.

If you own land, we visit the property together to assess views, sunlight, access, and how a home could sit beautifully on the site. If you’re still deciding, we can help you think that through too.

Step 2: Your Vision & Lifestyle

This is where we get specific—bring your saved photos, ideas, and wish list.

We start with the fundamentals and move into how you actually live: how you cook, entertain, work, and unwind. That shapes everything from window placements and layout to whether a home theatre, outdoor kitchen, or sauna belongs in the plan. Your location factors in too. Waterfront, acreage, and neighbourhood builds each bring their own opportunities, and we know how to work with all of them.

Step 3: See Your Home Before It’s Built

This is where your home becomes something you can see.

We develop detailed floor plans and 3D renderings so you can experience your home before it’s built. Virtually walk through ceiling heights, natural light, room flow, and how the exterior and interior come together.

Interior finishes come into play here, with full selections confirmed once the architecture is locked.

Step 4: Investment Review & Contract

With a clear picture of your home in hand, we review the full build estimate together in person, line by line. Every component, every cost, every question answered.

You’ll understand exactly what you’re investing in before anything moves forward.

When you’re ready, we sign and the build begins.

Phase Two - Permitting, Design & Structure

Step 5: Permits & Building Coordination

As your builder, we know exactly what your build requires and we manage permitting in-house. This means we get the right approvals in place from the start, no delays, no surprises.

We also coordinate everything: surveyors, engineers, civil consultants, and septic designers across all site types ( waterfront, acreage, slope, and environmentally sensitive builds).

You’ll always know where things stand but doing the paperwork stays with us.

Step 6: Your Interior Design Begins

Interior design and permitting run in parallel, intentionally.

We revisit your 3D renderings from step 3 and begin working through major selections: cabinetry direction, flooring categories, fixture styles, and feature elements like fireplaces and built-ins.

Starting now means decisions are made thoughtfully and not under pressure. Full selections are confirmed in Phase 3 once the structure is complete.

Step 7: Breaking Ground

With house architecture and permitting approved, the build begins on site.

We move through excavation, footings, foundations, servicing, and septic before framing the structure up from grade. Inspections and professional sign-offs happen at every required stage throughout. Progress is steady, documented, and shared regularly with you.

Step 8: Your Framing Walk-Through

One of the most significant milestones of the build, and a favourite of ours to share with you.

You step inside your actual space and we walk the framed stage together, confirming that what we envisioned in the renderings truly feels right to you.

Then we map every rough-in detail against how you live: lighting zones, outlet and switch locations, hose bibs, gas connections, and heating. Every detail, right down to where a light switch lands as you enter a room, should feel completely natural to you — and this is the moment we make sure it does.

Phase Three - Finishing & Handover

Step 9: Locking in Your Finishes

Interior selections have been building since Phase 2, confirmed steadily as your custom home build progressed.

At this stage, we bring every remaining detail to the table and lock it in. Think tiles, flooring, paint, trim, interior doors, hardware, lighting fixtures, and fireplace finishes. Once everything is confirmed, it’s scheduled for installation alongside the final stages of construction.

Step 10: Construction: The Final Stages

With every finish selected and approved, construction moves through its final stages without pause.

Insulation and drywall close in the structure. Trim, tile, and interior doors define the character of each space. Cabinetry, countertops, and fireplaces bring your design to life. Flooring and carpet complete the picture.

We clean the home, walk it with a critical eye, and clear final inspection approvals before we hand you the keys.

Step 11: Handover & Aftercare

Before you get your keys, we walk through everything together.

Every system reviewed, every feature explained (heating, cooling, fireplaces, smart tech), so you feel completely at home from day one.

We keep detailed records of your finishes and selections long after move-in, because you deserve that kind of care. We build it, and we stand behind it.

We believe good pricing starts with good judgment.

Our approach is built around clarity, accountability, and careful cost management, giving you a realistic picture of your investment from the outset. We plan thoroughly, track decisions closely, and steward your budget with the same care we bring to the build itself.
